Over 1000 Cradle to Cradle Certified® textile products set new standards

We are proud to announce a ground-breaking success in the field of sustainable textiles. Since the launch of the first Cradle to Cradle Certified® collection in 2022, over 1000 new certified products from our co-operative members have been sold.

This significant milestone is based on a shared supply chain and access to circular materials and production processes. It also proves that circular product solutions are possible through close collaboration and support from committed partners such as the Migros Pioneer Fund, epeaswitzerland and the City of Zurich.

Major development steps and high certification requirements

Thanks to intensive research since 2021, the Circular Clothing Cooperative is presenting Cradle to Cradle Certified® products in the areas of fashion, accessories, and home textiles. To be certified the materials and manufacturing processes used were audited on the following impact categories: Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air & Climate Protection, Water & Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness. Depending on the extent to which all of these criteria are met, there are various levels of certification from Bronze to Silver, Gold and Platinum. The Circular Clothing Cooperative succeeded in obtaining a bronze and gold level certification.

Frida by lavie – clean-lined design, crafted in a circular form.

The Frida collection by lavie is not only a declaration of love for striped designs, but also a bold step towards even greater consistency in terms of circularity. Frida – available as bed linen and as a top sheet – has been carefully designed from fibre to seam and proudly bears the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold certification. From the cotton material and dyes to the manufacturing process – everything about Frida is designed to be free from harmful substances and to one day return to the natural cycle.

Yarn-dyed for long-lasting colour fastness, the Frida design retains its natural look even after numerous washes. With this approach, lavie takes a holistic view of sustainability: from healthy materials and single-material construction to renewable energy and fair social conditions. For a good night’s sleep, night after night.

WE ARE ZRCL sets a new standard for circular fashion in Switzerland

The Swiss fashion brand WE ARE ZRCL has reached a significant milestone on its journey towards a truly circular economy: a large part of the SWISS EDITION collection is officially Cradle to Cradle® certified. This makes WE ARE ZRCL one of the few Swiss brands to combine ‘Swiss Made’ with one of the world’s most rigorous circular economy certifications.

“For us, Cradle to Cradle® isn’t just a marketing label, but an expression of our philosophy,” says CEO and founder Kilian Wiget. “We want to show that genuine circular fashion is possible in Switzerland – with high regional added value, transparent production and uncompromising quality.”

The SWISS EDITION by WE ARE ZRCL is largely manufactured in Switzerland and combines short supply chains, close collaboration with producers and the highest quality standards with a consistently circular design approach. The brand thus positions itself as a beacon for sustainable fashion ‘Made in Switzerland’.

the Blue suit – more Cradle to Cradle Certified® products

The Cradle to Cradle® design approach starts with the choice of materials: Only materials without toxins that are healthy for people and the environment are used. Equally important is how the materials are processed, which dyes are used and how the washes and prints are carried out. These production steps must also be Cradle to Cradle®-compliant.

The Black Denim collection was supplemented this autumn with additional styles such as the ANN and SIMONE pants and the MARLENE and YOSANO jackets – All of them achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze. A material highlight is the introduction of the first Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze business pants MILLER made of wool. For quality reasons a stronger stitching yarn is used. All other materials of the garments are Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold.

Last but not least, the Black Denim collection is the starting point for the joint supply chain and Cradle to Cradle Certified® certification, from which other Circular Clothing labels are now benefiting.
